“Below is a picture of an iron pipe almost 100 years old. It was set in 1927 for a subdivision in Rio Nido. The map only set about 10 of these and most are gone but we found this almost 20″ deep in great condition in the back forty of the woods. So awesome to be a land surveyor at times…. Carl was able to dig up a piece of this old Sonoma County History as well as an important piece of information for our client! In the old days (1927) after finding a monument like this the surveyors would open a bottle of fine whiskey and celebrate. However, in today’s world our handbook frowns upon that so a cold water was in order.”
